Our History

KOSHISH, which means "to try" in Nepali, has evolved from a lived-experience led initiative into a leading mental health and psychosocial wellbeing organization in Nepal.

Milestones

2008

KOSHISH was established

Founded by people with first-hand experience of mental health issues to promote psychosocial wellbeing in Nepal.

2010+

Advocacy and awareness expansion

Community engagement and rights-based advocacy efforts grew to bring mental health into mainstream dialogue.

2015+

Policy and systems engagement

KOSHISH strengthened collaboration with stakeholders and duty bearers to improve inclusive service access.

Today

Championing wellbeing for all

The organization continues to build community support systems and promote dignity, inclusion and equality.
